The Provisional License Eligibility Form (PLEF) is a key document in your iteach Virginia journey. Having this form completed by your hiring school division and returned to iteach is essential for moving forward in the program. The PLEF serves several critical purposes:
Verifies that you are officially hired with a partnered Virginia school division.
Activates your Residency/Field Experience, ensuring you can begin this phase without delay.
Confirms district approval for you to teach under a provisional license while completing the program.
Ensures compliance with Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) requirements, helping prevent delays in your license application or residency start.
Educators cannot progress to the final phase of the program until this form is completed and received by iteach.
How to Access Your PLEF
You will be able to download your PLEF from an active link in your Enrolled checklist once you have completed all prerequisite items:
Set up your payment plan
Complete both pre-hire courses (TCVA 5000 and TCVA 5100)
Submit passing test scores for your endorsement area (listed as Content Knowledge (Praxis II) in your checklist)
Once these three requirements are met, your PLEF link will activate in your Enrolled checklist on your portal homepage.
