During the admissions evaluation process, the iteach Texas team may request a Program Release Form. This request is based on information in your TEA (Texas Education Agency) account and is required to ensure compliance with state enrollment rules.
Why a Program Release May Be Required
TEA does not allow individuals to be enrolled in more than one educator preparation program at the same time.
You may be required to submit a Program Release Form if your TEA account shows that you were previously associated with:
- Another alternative certification program, or
- A university-based educator preparation program
Even if:
- You are no longer active in that program,
- You never completed the program, or
- You graduated from the university
You must be formally released before you can enroll with iteach.
Important
In some cases, a program release may be required even if you did not formally enroll in a certification program. Simply taking education courses during college can sometimes trigger this requirement in TEA records.
How the Program Release Form Works
The Program Release Form has two sections:
- Part A: Completed by the candidate
- Part B: Completed by the previous program or institution
Once both sections are completed, the form can be returned to iteach by you or by your previous program.
What Happens After Submission
Once the completed Program Release Form is received and processed, the admissions team can continue evaluating your application for enrollment eligibility.
