Canvas is the Learning Management System (LMS) used by iteach to deliver course content, quizzes, assignments, and instructor feedback. This guide will help you navigate Canvas effectively to complete your coursework successfully.
Accessing Canvas
Step 1: Log In to Canvas
- From your iteach portal home page, click the "COURSEWORK" tab on the menu across the top of your screen.
- Enter your username and password.
- Click Login to access your dashboard.
Step 2: Navigate the Canvas Dashboard
After logging in, you will see the Dashboard, which displays your enrolled courses.
- Click on a course card to enter that course.
- Use the Global Navigation Menu on the left side for quick access to Courses, Assignments, Grades, and Inbox.
Using Canvas for Coursework
Viewing Course Content
- Click on your course to open the Modules section.
- Modules contain course materials, quizzes, assignments, and resources.
- Follow the sequence of modules as they appear to complete the course in order.
Completing Assignments and Quizzes
- Click on an assignment or quiz from the module or Assignments tab.
- Read all instructions carefully before starting.
- Assignments may require file uploads, text entries, or discussions.
- Quizzes may be auto-graded with multiple-choice, matching, and short-answer formats.
- Ensure you meet the minimum passing score before proceeding to the next module.
Submitting Assignments
- Open the assignment page.
- Click Submit Assignment.
- Upload your file or enter text as required.
- Click Submit.
- Check for confirmation that your assignment was submitted successfully.
We recommend that you save a version of your work offline, for example, in a Word Document or Google Document. This will ensure that, in the rare cases that assignment submission is unsuccessful, your work is saved.
Viewing Instructor Feedback and Grades
- Click on Grades in the course navigation menu.
- To view instructor feedback, click the clipboard or quotation icons next to the assignment.
- Review rubric scores and comments to improve future submissions.
Canvas Accessibility Features
Canvas provides built-in tools to support diverse learning needs:
- Immersive Reader – Converts text to speech. Enable it under Account > Settings.
- Transcripts for Videos – Most course videos include transcripts for reading.
- Screen Reader Support – Compatible with Google Chrome Screen Reader and other assistive technologies.

- Check your browser (Chrome and Firefox are recommended).
- Clear your browser cache and cookies.
- Restart your device and try again.
