The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has officially adopted the ETS Praxis Bridge Program. This means that an “Alt. Pass” score earned through a Praxis Bridge module is now accepted as a passing score for all VDOE-approved assessment areas.
An “Alt. Pass” is treated exactly the same as a traditional passing score and fully satisfies the licensure testing requirement for your endorsement area.
How to Know if You’re Eligible
The Praxis Bridge Program is available for several, though not all, Praxis exams. Eligibility is determined solely by ETS.
Here’s what you need to know:
- ETS will review exam results from the past three years.
- If you are eligible, ETS will contact you directly with instructions.
- iteach cannot determine eligibility or confirm whether you qualify.
Using This Option for Your iteach Requirements
If you are eligible and choose to complete a Praxis Bridge module instead of retaking the exam, here’s what to expect:
- After completing the module, you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
- You will also receive an updated Praxis Score Report showing the notation “Alt. Passed.”
- VDOE fully accepts this “Alt. Pass” designation and can be used to meet your Virginia licensure testing requirement.
What to Do After Completing the Module
Once your updated Praxis Score Report shows an “Alt. Passed” status:
- Log into your iteach portal.
-
Upload your official ETS Praxis Score Report with the “Alt. Passed” notation to your checklist.
- Note: Uploading only the module’s Certificate of Completion is not sufficient for approval.
-
Our team will review and approve your exam scores within 2–3 days.
You will receive an email once approval is complete.
If you are unable to upload your score report in the portal, you may email it to adminVA@iteach.net for processing.
